A few hours before EPT San Remo tournament wrapped up, Nicolas Yunis controlled the race in the place of chip leader with a huge advantage. He accrued the largest stack of the day with 2,281,000; 60 competitors joined the poker room to play during this day.

More than 24 survivors returned to fight for the title of the event. Representing France were David Lichentin and Freddy Darakjian: both played well and became part of the field for the final day.

At the second position belonged to Rupert Elder, he has the second largest stack. The survivors of that Day 4 should indeed do their best to be eligible for the final table of the EPT San Remo 2011.

With approximately 66 million chips, Jonathan Duhamel is this year’s November Nine chip leader and he’s determined to be crowned the 2010 WSOP Main Event champion. Many of his abundant chips were accumulated on the following remarkable hand that occurred with only 15 players remaining in the tournament.

With blinds 120,000 and 240,000, antes 30,000, Duhamel looked down at Jh-Jc, while sitting in the cutoff seat. After all the early- and mid-position players folded, Duhamel raised to 550,000.

However, Matt Affleck, sitting on the button, decided to re-raise to 1.55 million. After the blinds quickly folded, Duhamel chose to four-bet his opponent to 3.925 million. After a moment, Affleck called the raise, creating a massive 8 million chip pot pre-flop.

With everyone on the edge of their seat, the dealer finally flipped over the 8d on the river, giving Duhamel a straight.
As the crowd erupted, Affleck could not believe his eyes. He buried his head in his cap, realizing that he was so close, yet so far from the 2010 November Nine. Even his $500,165 prize was little consolation for this brutal beat, which left him in 15th place.

Although Duhamel enters the final table as the chip leader, no one knows who will win. Good luck to the entire 2010 November Nine!

There were two events of the 2010 World Series of Poker main Event Day 1.  A field of 2,600 players gathers down to take part in the tournament and it’s a quite challenging for the members of Team Ultimate Bet.  Among the 1,125 runners of the Day 1A, Team UB members such as Tiffany Michelle and Mathew Graham join the spectacle. The infamous Twitter fight between UB.com pro Phil Hellmuth and DoylesRoom namesake Doyle Brunson is everywhere on the net these days. Hellmuth told his senior, “I’ll side bet you that I can get 75,000 extra Twitter followers in the next three months just by hosting freeroll tournaments.” Hellmuth presented to bet $1 million and Brunson countered with $10,000, but no contract was reached.

Hellmuth’s remark was in part a jab at Brunson for increasing his Twitter following using promotional tactics. In case you’re speculating, Hellmuth has 39,000 Twitter followers, whereas Brunson has nearly ten times that total at 340,000. Brunson started the episode up over $130,000 from last week’s action, while Tom “durrrr” Dwan was losing $150,000. At one point, over $1 million was spread athwart the table, $350,000 of which was contributed by Dwan.

The former Commissioner of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is going for new stuff. After his separation from Harrah’s in November, Pollack is seeking greater height as the new Executive Chairman of the Professional Bull Riders (PBR), at the same time he will serve the Board of Directors which is reported in the Sports Business Journal.

The recent PBR CEO Randy Bernard went down last February to go for another destination in the Indy Racing League (IRL). As he stated in the Sports Business Journal, “We’ll take a fresh look at scheduling and where we hold our competitions” he also added that “We may retire the title of CEO, that’s something we haven’t decided.”

Aside from the new accomplishments of Pollack, Joe Cada defeated Darvin Moon in the final round of the 2009 WSOP Main Event.  He tweeted his farewell as the WSOP Commissioner, he says, “Thank you for allowing me to be part of the WSOP these last few years. I will always be a fan and friend to the poker community.”

Regarding with his new profession, on the TwoPlusTwo, members like “PADRE24” says, “Congrats to Jeff! He did a great job and will be a good rep for bull riding. I wonder if he has to wear a cowboy hat now?” on the other hand, “Eponymous” teased, “He probably just wants to meet Jewel, who is married to one of the PBR founders.”

The half-brother of Pollack, Gary Bettman is also the Commissioner of the NHL which sponsors the WSOP it includes Sirius Satellite Radio, AOL, Milwaukee’s Best, and Planters Peanuts.  Ty Stewart assures the responsibilities of Pollack. However, the position that was left by Pollack is not yet replaced.

2009 CardPlayer Player of the Year Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin is challenging Hellmuth on the money side of the equation is. His 15th place finish in the first $1,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament grossed him a payday of $31,362. With more than 30 days to go yet on the WSOP schedule, Team UB still has time to get some of the prizes up for grabs.
